  • Medium to Low — It's All You Need to Know

The Platinum TempAlert Knob eliminates cooking guesswork by indicating the ideal temperature range between 40-60. For optimal results when preparing fresh or frozen vegetables, fill the unit at least 2/3 full, rinse thoroughly in cold water, drain excess water, and securely cover the unit. Choose a burner proportional to the unit size (small unit with a small burner, large unit with a large burner). Once the heat indicator hits the 40-60 mark, adjust the heat to low for precise and efficient cooking.

  • First is Always Gonna Be the Worst

Prepare for a transformative culinary experience with Professional Platinum Cookware, but be forewarned that the first week may present challenges. Breaking old habits, such as cranking up the heat, could lead to scorched meals. However, by adopting the mantra "medium to low is all you need to know," this adjustment period will be brief. The long-term benefits include not only culinary excellence but also improved health. Embrace the initial hurdles as stepping stones to a world where your investment in Professional Platinum Cookware pays off in every delicious and health-conscious meal.

  • Pre-heat for Meats

    1. Preheat the covered unit on medium heat.
    2. Once the heat indicator reaches the 10-11 o'clock position, lift the cover and place the meat inside, pressing it firmly. Cover and let it brown for approximately 4 minutes.
    3. Turn the meat using a spatula/ tongs, press it down, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Most chops, chicken, burgers, etc., typically need an additional 5-8 minutes to cook.
    4. When cooking steaks, adhere to the general rule of 2 minutes after reducing the heat for each 3/4 inches for a medium-rare result.
    5. For roasts, after turning the meat, you can add potatoes, onions, carrots, etc., directly on top of the roast. Reduce the heat and cook for approximately 1-1 1/2 hours for a 5-6 lb. roast. The beauty is that you can't overcook, so relax and let it tenderize even more.

More helpful cooking tips!

When using the Platinum TempAlert Knob never lift the cover from the unit until the recommend cooking time been completed. Doing so not only reduces the temperature, but also results in a loss of valuable moisture from the food. Remember, the TempAlert Knob tells you what is going on in the unit at all times.

No matter what type of range you use, if steam begins to escape from under the cover you are wasting heat! Reduce your heat and continue cooking. This will not disturb the cooking process, and all the natural juices and nutrients in your food.

When searing meats or poultry (in pan broiling or roasting) press the meat or poultry down firmly to achieve even browning. Do not be alarmed if the meat sticks to the pan at first. Meat pores close when they come in contact with heat, and after a couple of minutes, the meat will loosen from the unit and it will turn easily!
